» Where will your weather balloon land? «
This tool will help you to predict the estimated flight path of your high altitude balloon. All you have to do is to simply fill in your launch coordinates and give some information about the ascent and descent rates. The easiest way to determine the starting coordinates is via Google Maps. With a right-click the context menu opens. By clicking on “What’s here?” the location is displayed next to the address in the form of coordinates.
The prediction tool determines the flight path up to seven days in advance, after entering all required data. The closer you are to the real launch date, the more precise the calculation will be. The tool uses current weather and wind conditions for the prediction. Basically, the prognosisimmediately before the launch of the weather balloon is very accurate. So you can drive shortly after the launch in the direction of your prediction so that you will be nearby during the real landing.
