Unusual challenges are his thing: Stefan de Vries, one of the best-known YouTubers from the Netherlands, has come up with a particularly cool mission this time. His goal? To shoot the world’s first yoghurt into the stratosphere! And who better to realise it than the Stratoflights team?
💡 The challenge: at an icy -65°C in the stratosphere, the yoghurt was to turn into a frozen dessert so that Stefan could launch it as yoghurt – and land it as ice cream! But why stick to just one premiere? Another curious experiment was launched at the same time: the first sultana bun on the edge of space! 🚀
The big launch – and a tricky trajectory
On launch day, however, a challenge awaited: the strong easterly wind. As Stefan had requested a take-off close to the Dutch border, it quickly became clear that the flight distance would be around 200 kilometres as the crow flies. But that didn’t stop us. Challenge accepted!
The balloon rose into the sky and the race began! While our yoghurt (and the sultana roll) took off towards space, Stefan was already speeding towards the predicted landing region in his Audi SQ8.
Mission accomplished? Yoghurt or ice cream?
We were finally able to recover the cargo in a field – but was it still yoghurt or already frozen space ice cream? ❄️ A few kilometres further on, the sultana roll was also waiting for us – fresh from the stratosphere!
A crazy experiment, an epic hunt and a must-see adventure. Watch the full video on YouTube! 🔥
