The sculpture ‘Silver Blaze – #journeytotheunknown’ is an art object from 2023 by Henrik Heidgen – it is a rocket made of highly polished, hand-engraved aluminium and brass with a total height of 45cm.
It was originally inspired by the Voyager Golden Records, two golden discs mounted on the two Voyager probes that were launched from Earth into interstellar space in 1977. In particular, the pulsar map developed especially for this mission, as a signpost for extraterrestrial life forms to our solar system and to us as a species, was to be reflected on ‘Silver Blaze’.
